Nobody wakes up wanting rental software. They want the generator that came back late to have been invoiced, or three spreadsheets to agree with each other, or a yard team to stop working around the system. So start there. Describe the annoying thing, even if you can’t tell whether it’s a software problem. Most people hold off writing to a vendor because they expect a sequence of follow-ups for having asked, which is a sensible instinct and a poor reason to sit on a question.
